STACKED 📊📐💪🏻 On this Monday, take a second and think about your posture and alignment and set yourself STRAIGHT for the week. We spend SO much time interacting with our phones, that our kinetic chain is starting to suffer. Think about that slouch forward in your shoulders... it immediately disengages your ENTIRE ABDOMINAL WALL and your pelvic floor. If you can even stop once a day and remind yourself to adjust your posture, it will start to happen more and more often subconsciously. 👉🏻TRICK: Stand with your back pressed into a wall - press your head back, chin down slightly, while you slide your shoulder blades down the wall, palms facing forward. Remember this girl?!? 🙋🏼‍♀️🤰🏼💫 #tbt to 2 years ago when my Leetle Meester was only 4 weeks away from making his grand appearance. 🤗👋🏻👶🏻 Little did I know how much I could love or how full a day could be 😳💯😍 • • PRENATAL FITNESS: Ladies, if you are EVER in a class and the instructor says “just don’t do anything that feels weird” you are in the WRONG CLASS!! There are so many dos and don’ts that change from trimester to trimester that a good and responsible teacher should know. You should be working out VERY differently after 25 weeks and really focusing on strengthening your TVA, cardio intervals, opening your chest, stretching your quads, diaphragmatic BREATHING, and so much more 🌈🙏🏻💨 I worked out until the morning I went into labor. Those workouts saved me, kept me strong and, most importantly, they kept me SANE!! Sending love to all my mommy-to-bes out there!!! 💗💖💝 You are beautiful. You are sexy. Sliding into this warm February week like... 💁🏼‍♀️ ✨ #mondaymotivation THE BODY ISSUE: the way you move=the way you look. Just because you sweat and check the box does not mean that your workouts are getting you one step closer to YOUR goals. The way you move everyday will develop (and also decondition) your muscles. EX: If you take a pro swimmer and have them stop swimming and run instead, that person will start to atrophy the muscles in his/her upper body that were formerly used on a daily basis for swimming, and his/her body will become an entirely different shape. Same thing happens if a person who is used to spinning 5 days a week starts to dance. Working out should be about creating a PROPORTIONATE, strong, and lean body that moves on ALL planes of motion and is prepared for anything!! That means your body shape will ALSO start to change to be more proportionate, strengthening your weaker muscles, and leaning out the muscles that have been overdeveloped. Trust yourself. If something feels tight and overworked, it probably is. If your jeans are getting tighter, and you’re working out 3-4 days a week, that is not a good sign! Listen to your body and make your workouts work FOR you!! You’ve got this!! ✌🏻👊🏻💥😅💃🏼

Day #21: EXHALE.. & CELEBRATE!! 🎉 Whew 😅 I think the general consensus is that January 2019 felt like an EON!!! Why was is so damn long?? HOWEVER!☝🏻That just gave us more time to get to know each other and focus more deeply on our goals and what challenges were really getting in the way of accomplishing those goals. Let’s review.. was it: 👉🏻Emotions 👉🏻Relationship to food 👉🏻Commitment 👉🏻Support 👉🏻Time management* 👉🏻Workout 🔛There are so many reasons why we choose not to prioritize ourselves. Day #20: ALCOHOL 🥂🍸🥃 If you’re just coming out of “Dry Jan” and looking to find a healthy relationship with alcohol, this may help you make an educated choice 👍🏻 If you want to enjoy a drink or two, you shouldn’t feel guilty about that!!! Allow yourself to enjoy a festive “CHEERS!” 🎉 Just be CONSCIOUS of your decision to do so, and aware of your options (there are SO MANY!! 🤷🏼‍♀️) I LOVE this post from #drdarylgioffre . Day #18: Emotions and Exercise . Our physical bodies respond to what’s happening in our energy system. By the time you experience it on a physical level, you’ve actually been grappling with it for a considerable amount of time on an emotional level. Ever hear of the book “Mind Over Back Pain” by John Sarno? He breaks down how stress and anger can manifest physically! Your back pain may not be muscle related at ALL!! It’s fascinating!! I’ve had two good friends solve their back pain from a completely mental, emotional, and psychological level!! . That being said, DANCE is one of the BEST ways to connect your mind and body, share the good vibes and physical euphoric energy with those around you, AND leave class on an endorphin high that makes all that stress melt away and subconsciously reconnects you to your grounded, calm, physical body. Which will not only make you a nicer, happier version of yourself, but it may even alleviate some of those pesky physical side effects you’ve experienced by holding all that emotion in your muscles.
